Are there any free lunches?
Consumer Alert. I recently suggested that my wife get her credit report from http://www.freecreditreport.com the problem was I failed to tell her that in order to get the free credit report you have to subscribe to their credit protection program. In other words to get the free credit report you have to authorize a monthly deduction from your credit card and then remember to cancel within 30 days.
Everyday I check my bank account and credit card balances to be sure there isnít anything appearing on either one I donít know about. Today I found a charge for $12.95 from CIC Triple Advantage. Upon further research I traced it back to the free credit report transaction called the company and canceled the service. The problem is that I am still out $12.95.
While researching CIC Triple Advantage I discovered a site that I thought might be useful to you. It is called Rip Off Report. http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports At this group you can research other peoples experience with the companies you might be dealing with. Here is a report I read on CIC Triple advantage.
The moral of the story is that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Or, if you get a free lunch be sure to remember to cancel your subscription before the bill comes to your table for payment. Buyer beware!

One Manís Trash is Another Manís Treasure
Never has this been truer than it is today, and with the ever growing problem of crowded landfills, there was never a better time to do something about it. Freecycle is the perfect solution to the landfill problem, while helping those in need. Check them out at http://www.freecycle.org
Freecycleís mission is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling its members to benefit from the strength of a larger community.
The most efficient form of recycling is reusing, and Freecycle endeavors to facilitate the process by pointing interested parties to the geographically appropriate mailing list. There, they can give away their stuff and take other people's castoffs. Selling and trading are prohibited: This is all about free-ness.
Freecycle currently has more than 3,400 groups, and over 2,000,000 individuals from around the world, with more added all the time. They have more than 60 groups located throughout the state of Oklahoma in both large and small communities. To find a group near you try the following link for Oklahoma groups http://www.freecycle.org/display.php?region=US%20Southwest.
By giving freely with no strings attached, members of The Freecycle Network help instill a sense of generosity of spirit as they strengthen local community ties and spirit. People from all walks of life have joined together to turn trash into treasure.
Happy (And Safe) Surfing from Your Friends at FullNet!
Internet Dodge Ball!
Over the past 3 months we have discussed various Internet security programs to assist in keeping you safe and sound while you surf the net. We pointed out some of the features in Windows that might help protect you and even covered features that FullNet provides for our members.
But how can you avoid getting put on every spammer's hit list to begin with?? Every time you fill out a survey, register for some service or ask a company for information your e-mail address could end up on several other lists. (By the way, FullNet does NOT give your e-mail to anyone else).
Well, let us share a secret with you that will keep anyone from having your e-mail address on line anywhere. The next time anyone asks for an e-mail address before they will answer a question or provide a service just give them what ever name you like @dodgeit.com. It is your temporary and free
internet e-mail address
There is nothing to set up, and no costs. The fine folks of http://www.dodgeit.com will set an e-mail address that will automatically delete in 7 days! Trust us on this. Itís the coolest thing since sliced spam! You go to the dodgeit site and type in any name in the box and check the mail. You may even share
a name with others, but the point is that when you give someone your email@example.com they don't clog up your firstname.lastname@example.org!
Voila! Internet dodge ball!! You get to dodge all that spam and still comply with pesky requirements stating, "you must provide an e-mail address!" The best of both worlds.
